Site Services Coordinator
Sad but true I am entering my 20th year is a Woodcrafter. During this time the Folk has brought out the best in me and has been the most consistently positive part of my life. For the past 13 years I have had practical hands on experience in running residential trips and camps for all age groups coved by Woodcraft.
Last summer I enjoyed heading up a strong Site Service team at V-Camp 08, prior to that I held similar positions at Global Village and V-Camp 05 as well working at countless District Camps.
As well as my day job (Head of Technical Training – The North Face, Europe, Middle East and Asia) I have helped Loudsound Productions to manage croud control, wrist banding, security and set up and take down of camping areas, I have been in charge of up to 120 employees at a time at events such as Rockness, Camp Bestival, Sonisphere and soon Creamfields and Bestival.
I am also working on a freelance basis as a festival bar manager for The Workers Beer Company who have provided thousands of pounds of funding for The Folk and share many of our aims and principals.
Something that I intend on actioning this year is introducing an apprentice scheme for Venturers so they can learn from the best about how to keep a campsite for 800plus people running smoothly. This will generate interest and keep standards high for the future, as well as educating young people and passing on skills.
At V-Camp under The Woodcraft Folk banner friendships will form, true colours will emerge and lives will change for the better. This is why I want to lend a hand.
