Posted on 02. Mar, 2010 by phinharper in VCamp 2010

Stand back as The Awesome Job Centre launches as a new way for DFs and Kinsfolk to come to V-Camp 2010!

Greetings Traveler,

Big News! The Awesome Job Centre is now online !! But what on earth does that mean i hear you cry! well fear not compadre for i shall explain.

The Awesome Job Centre

The Awesome Job Centre is a new centre to open at V-Camp 2010. It will do some of the usual things that centres do like running a bitchin programe of workshops but crucially it will be the hub of all DF and Kinsfolk roles at the Camp. The Awesome Job Centre intends to keep track of everybody over 15 and what they’re getting up to. Not to flex some sort of central controll but to help everybody gets the most out of V-Camp 2010 and getting involved with a certain centre or team is as accessible and open as possible.

Perhaps you’ve always wanted to do some site services? Perhaps you wanna run a set of DJing workshops? Perhaps you wanna do somthing new everyday untill you find the team or centre for you? Whatever your desire The Awesome Job Centre is the place to go. You can find contact details for every centre coordinator so its really easy to get the answers your looking for. If that doesn’t work or you have a complex situation you can e-mail the awesome job centre directly.

Do I Need a Role?

Venturer Camp is for Venturers. Part of this means that if you are over 15 then you need to help build the camp those under 15. Its not about all work and no play – having a role doesn’t take up all your time, is always a lot of fun and you meet loads of new people. You will need to select your role when you book (Which can be done entirely ONLINE)

If your a Venturer then being a Venturer is all the role you need but if you want to get involved with a centre or team or have ideas to share about how you would like them to run then please get in touch as every centre coordinator would love to have your idea onboard!

You will join a group of six other venturers that were elected at the venturer conference.

The role involves meeting three times before the camp (all expenses paid) and telling the central team what you would like to see on camp. The first meeting will be held in the first week of February.

If you want to get involved, send an email to vcamp@woodcraft.org.uk with the following details:

Your full name, district, email address and a statement saying how you can help the committee (write about 300 words).

The deadline for submissions is December 24th. The decision will be made by the current members of the committee, and we will let you know if your application has been successful in the first week of January.

We need a representative from each of the following areas: London, South East, South West, Midlands, Wales, Eastern, Northern and Scotland.

So go on, send your application in now!
